There are a ga-zillion websites dedicated to working out. Sorry, but we are not one of them.
DwellnessProject.com is dedicated to YOU. We are a league of normal people committed to the extraordinary idea of evolving our fitness.
Let me clarify something: we know that consistent exercise is important, and we pay homage to working out in this site. We invite you to develop strength and endurance beyond the boundaries of your workouts. We like to ‘exercise’ across more aspects than just the physical plane:
- How we spend our time when we’re NOT working out
- What are the best tools to keep ourselves nourished and balanced?
- How about our family- how fit are our relationships?
- What’s our regime for keeping our mind sharp?
- What inspires us to transform our physical exercise into multi-faceted, sparkling DWELLNESS?
Evolved fitness & wellness (aka Dwellness) is 100% unique to you. Think of it as the DNA of your lifestyle choices. It’s always with you. It has many possibilities & layers, and a dark v. light aspect (think Vader v. Skywalker).
This quote comes from one of the most lovable and charming characters in the history of cartoon animation: Winnie the Pooh. He simply oozes adorableness and positivity. Not an inspirational athlete, yet reading this quote invigorates the hero in me.
Growing up, I was never an athlete. I didn’t like sports or competitions like relay races and such. I was a child of the 70’s and 80’s- I ate sugary cereal for breakfast and had an entire cubbie of nothing but snacks and junk foods within my reach at all times. That’s just how it was. It was normal at the time.
When I went to college, I wasn’t very responsible. I had no supervision and developed some pretty bad binge-eating habits. After college those habits were almost impossible to conquer. I was diagnosed with chronic depression at 25. I tried one round of prozac and flipped my shit one day in therapy because I was told that my boyfriend wasn’t the answer to all my problems and nose-dived into a depressive darkness I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Ever.
Yet…here I am today, compelled to share my story with you. I want you to know that life’s not always been perfect, I haven’t always been happy, and I’m okay with that. I wouldn’t change it (even though I’m cringing as I type this!), because I came out on the other side as the ‘me’ you see now.
And if I can do it, YOU CAN DO IT.
Tell me your wants & needs – I created this uber-short questionnaire so I can start helping you right now!
Let’s do this. Together. You are Braver than you Believe, Stronger than you Seem, & Smarter than you Think.
