Wellness is about the practice of love, as a strength, as a daily answer to the problems that confront us. How is love a practical solution? Love is what we were born with. Fear is learned. The dwellness journey is the relinquishment- or unlearning- of fear and the acceptance of love back into our hearts. It is our ultimate reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life.
Wellness is never a static state. There are many degrees of wellness, just as there are degrees of illness. Nor is wellness simply the absence of disease. Diseases and symptoms are not really the problem. They are actually the body-mind-spirit’s attempt to solve a problem- they are a message. The wellness experience is based on self-responsibility.
Think of wellness as a pathway. You can go either direction on the pathway- headed toward fear/ negativity or love/ positivity. You may be in good physical health, but always complaining or worrying, which may make you turn distinctly toward negativity. Or perhaps you have a physical handicap or injury, but have a positive outlook, which leads you in the direction of love.
Love isn’t seen with the physical eyes or heard with physical ears. Love is the intuitive knowledge of our hearts. Love isn’t material. It’s energy. It’s the feeling in a room, a situation, a person. Money can’t buy it. Sex doesn’t guarantee it. We experience it as kindness, giving, mercy, compassion, joy, peace, acceptance, non-judgement, and intimacy. Love is within us. It cannot be destroyed, only hidden.
That’s what wellness is, a shift in perception, a return to love.
